Introduction

Hello all,
I am former MAC (SW/AW) Michael Jason Abernathy. I was a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy. Serving from 1995-2006, I decided that maybe if I write about myself and my thoughts, I could release some feelings and thoughts that I have, and possibly put the past behind me.
I was a skinny, tall, immature 19 year old from Stanley, North Carolina. I decided one night after failed attempt of college to join the US Navy. So I did, in July of 1995, I enlisted in the Delayed Entry Program, signed up and ready to leave for RTC Great Lakes IL on October 5, 1995.
I remember that day like it was yesterday, a day that I will never forget. My father dropped me off at the MEP center in Charlotte NC. Until that morning, early, I have never seen my father cry. The look on his face, I will never forget. As the tears rolled down his cheek, I turned walked away, took a couple steps, and said, "Goodbye".
Now, getting more to the point of this blog, we will fast forward for now, and I will write stories of the in-between later, ok? On September 12th, 2006, I was discharged from the Navy. I was discharged because I fell in love with the wrong woman, that wore a similar uniform, but a total different pay-grade, she was an officer.
